History doesn’t stop at the doors of an Ealing Historical Association lecture. There are societies, museums, libraries, theatres, archives, researchers, and community groups doing fascinating work across Ealing, London, and beyond. Our Community is a place to share some of the events, exhibitions, talks, and activities that we think may be of interest to our members and visitors.
Some of the events below are organised by local organisations and societies; others have been shared with us by people working in the wider historical and cultural community.

The Gang of Three

What happens when three close friends all believe they should lead the Labour Party?
The Gang of Three, a new play by Tom Salinsky and Robert Khan, explores the extraordinary friendship and rivalry between Roy Jenkins, Denis Healey and Tony Crosland, set against the political and economic upheavals of 1970s Britain.
The play brings together political history and personal drama, following three men who were united by friendship but increasingly divided over what Britain (and the Labour Party) needed.
Although rooted in the politics of the period, this is also a story about the people behind the history. And, we’re told, it’s a funny one too. The production originally played at the King’s Head Theatre before transferring directly to Richmond Theatre as part of its national tour.

Institute of Polish Military History
The Institute of Polish Military History UK, part of the Polish Heritage Society UK, runs a programme of lectures exploring Polish military and European history.
The 2026–27 programme includes talks ranging from Polish experiences during the Second World War and the Cambridge spies to medieval chivalry, the Enigma story, the Katy? massacre and Napoleon’s place in Polish literature. There is also a digital library of recorded lectures.

A presentation placing the Polish medieval knight Zawisza the Black in the wider European context of the Age of Chivalry, including comparisons with William Marshal. - 5 December 2026 — German Investigations into Enigma Security · Sir Dermot Turing
An investigation into what German forces learned about Polish successes in breaking the Enigma cipher after the invasion of Poland in 1939.
